Q&A Session summary

TCG: Gameplay, Crafting, and Balance

Why has the crafting cost for SR cards increased with the introduction of stones?
The cost adjustment is meant to better position SR cards between the Rare (R) and Ultra Rare (UR) tiers. The system was initially balanced around Mythic (M) cards. Additionally, the season duration is being extended from 6 months to 9 months, with three SR releases per cycle. This will also increase the availability of SR cards through staking, which will be revised with the introduction of Liquid Staking and Restaking on the new blockchain.

Why introduce a new Aurelius card for Season 3?
Each season highlights key moments in the lore. Characters like Aurelius may reappear in different contexts (young, old, happy, sad) depending on their importance in the ongoing story. For Season 3 (Rift), Aurelius returns as a Mythic card. This is independent of combo cards, which may combine characters from different origins.

Will every card or element have a unique effect?
No. Adding unique effects to every card would create balance issues for the secondary market. Instead, special Blast ability will be introduced. These mechanics, activated based on player collections, add strategic depth while maintaining overall game balance.

Why not slow down collection releases to focus on game development?
The transition to a 9-month cycle for upcoming seasons (which will contain collections that are half the size of previous ones) addresses this concern. It’s also worth noting that previous seasons lasted about a year instead of the originally planned six months. This change will allow for better resource management and increased collection value. Additionally, a new reward system will be introduced after the blockchain migration to encourage regular collectors.

Blockchain Migration and Exchange Market

What is happening with the Exchange Market?
The initial order book model proved too complex for practical use. The team has instead opted for a Liquidity Pool (LP) model, which will be introduced after the blockchain migration.

How will the blockchain migration work?
The migration is designed to be simple and user-friendly with a "one-click" system, developed in partnership with Immutable X and the new blockchain. This transition will allow the introduction of various on-chain features highly anticipated by the community.

Rewards and Economy

Will players be able to earn CTA tokens through gameplay?
No, not directly. Players will earn Trisel through regular gameplay, which can then be exchanged for CTA tokens once the blockchain migration is complete. This will be done through a dedicated liquidity pool, with exchange ratios adjusting automatically based on supply and demand.

Are there plans to list CTA tokens on other exchanges like Binance or Coinbase?
There are no immediate plans for additional secondary listings. However, this could be reconsidered based on market conditions after the blockchain migration.

Beta Testing for TCG and Arise

When will beta testing begin?
Beta testing is scheduled for March to April 2025:

  • For TCG, Patch 0.24 will introduce new gameplay mechanics.
  • For Arise, a limited-scope test will allow players to experience core features.

Why has beta testing taken so long to launch?
Large-scale beta testing requires significant resources and can slow production. The team needed to restructure its processes to balance the integration of player feedback with internal development goals.

Books and Collector’s Edition

Is the Collector’s Edition of the books for Mint Pass holders still planned?
Yes, it is still planned, though logistical challenges have delayed its release.

What is the status of future books?
The second book is already written, and the third is in progress. While sales of the first book were slightly below expectations, a new publishing and promotional strategy is now in place to maximize the impact of future releases.

Community and Collaboration

Why have some community events been paused?
The team prioritized the production of key projects like TCG updates and Arise development. While this decision has led to fewer community-driven events in the short term, 2025 is expected to bring more engagement opportunities.

Can you share more details about the next collaboration?
Details are currently under NDA, but the team is optimistic about its potential.

Reflection on Cross The Ages

After three years, how does the team view the project?
The team acknowledges the technical challenges and obstacles presented by the Web3 ecosystem. However, progress in gaming, literature, and collaborations demonstrates the long-term vision for the project. 2025 will be a pivotal year, with multiple key releases planned.
