SR02 - Mantrix Council

Mantrix. For some people, the word inspires dreams, for others, it terrifies. The difference between the two points of view make sense by understanding the meaning of death. Is it the end of all things? Or does death mark the beginning of a new adventure?

In Mantris, the Noria, the system of control and superior intelligence, enriches itself year after year with the consciousness of its deceased. An operation permitted only for the elite of citacs, which involves downloading the consciousness and knowledge of a Mantri after their death into the Noria system. The operation enriches the network with all the knowledge of the person, who is preserved after death as a persona.

In the highest tower of the Noria, Anis is responsible for elevating the Mantri by transferring their spirit into the vast web that continuously feeds the networks of citacs, offering additional knowledge and data to all SIT.

While the Mantrix is a mind, its appearance remains original, and memories are preserved in their entirety. But the operation of elevation to the status of Mantrix is not guaranteed. Reserved for a minority, if the body and mind are too damaged, the elevation may fail, potentially losing all the knowledge of the deceased citac permanently.

For some citizens, the status of Mantrix is the ultimate reward to receive after a life of dedicated citac. For others, it is a means of preserving a loved one, a special person who was dear to them through elevation, and the idea of persisting beyond death, no matter what.

Javier Bravomalo is an illustrator and concept artist passionate about painting and the gaming industry. After creating the versions of Astrid from the main Arkhante collection as well as Laurie's SR, Javier continued his collaboration with CTA for the Mantris series. He is the originator of both versions of the common Imari card and the rare Sathyne card. His work for the Mantrix cards is his fifth participation in the CTA universe.
