Heroes can take various forms: the savior who aids those in distress, or the protector, devoted to their homeland and willing to sacrifice for it. Some are a blend of both. In Mantris, Terak is one of those.

Terak

Holo-Anime Hero

On every civilization, there are figures, symbols, that written strong marks on all entire generations. Whether they are thinkers or scientists, politicians, civilian or military geniuses, individuals or sometimes creations are destined to make their mark in history. Such is the case with Terak, a giant robot straight from the production lines of Mantris.

For the younger generation of Mantris, children born after the Hero War, Terak is a towering protective robot depicted in numerous heroic exploits for Mantris. Presented in high-quality holo-animations, the robot comes to life through rounded forms that give it cute forms. With its warrior skills and unwavering demeanor, Terak is a highly endearing character, a towering guardian of scrap metal, defender of Mantris like no other, and is greatly appreciated by children.

If he is immortalized in this way today, it is because Terak became a legend during the Hero War. Present on all fronts, he was sent where operations required the most armed forces and participated in numerous confrontations. His importance was such that what was initially just a simple machine gradually gained the status of savior or legend as the war expanded, depending on the impact he had in the conflicts he was involved in.

The extent to which Terak took part in the Hero War eventually overshadowed in reputation some seasoned Mantri fighters. His bravery and numerous exploits contributed to the legend of this giant robot, now immortalized through holographic animations produced for children.

About the artist...

Born in 1975 in Marseille (France), Jérôme Alquié enrolled in an aeronautical engineering school in Toulouse in the mid-1990s. It was during this time that he met our dear Arnaud Dollen, who would help him to realize several projects. Passionate about animation and comic book universes, Julien began by illustrating artbooks and creating comic book pages while participating in exhibitions and festivals as an amateur exhibitor.

2001 marked a turning point in his career with the creation of a 5-minute animated trailer named Hades, intended for fans of Saint Seiya, imagining what the character could have been if TOEI had produced a sequel to the anime. The trailer was praised by both the public and fans of the original work, beyond all expectations. The rest of the 2000s saw his rise, and Julien became the author of many illustrations for DVD covers, artbooks, and comics.

In his most recent illustrations, one can notably find the series "Surnaturels" and "Les Mythics" published by Delcourt, or more recently Captain Harlock by Kana editions. He also illustrated the Saint Seiya manga and comics, in collaboration with Arnaud Dollen as writer.

All the experience acquired by Julien during these many years is now expressed through his magnificent representations of Terak. Already the author of the two Archer cards, the SR of the Arkhante series, the signature of the confirmed comic book illustrator stands out in his work for Cross The Ages.
