Class I Utility Drone

Quartz Battery Charger

The Class I Utility Drone is a widely used programmable multi-functional flying device in Mantris. It is a basic version of the Mantri flying drones, without any weapon systems. It also lacks the acceleration units found on military models, but has been designed to be as functional as possible. Its four lateral thrusters, which are used for manoeuvring, also act as a light when it needs to operate at night or in dark areas, aiding its detection sensors. Retractable metal legs under the hull allow the Class I to carry objects or materials.

At the front of the machine, torches are used to weld metal plates and carry out various repairs, a vital function as the Class I model is designed to facilitate construction in the city-continent, allowing workers to reduce risks. The Utility Drone can easily lift plates and glass weighing several kilograms, making it easier for builders to work at height, especially on the outside of buildings. This is particularly important in a society that tends to build higher and higher.

However, the energy crisis facing Mantris and the depletion of the energy cells affect Class I first and foremost. As tensions with Arkhante show no signs of abating, Class I units are increasingly being sidelined or decommissioned in favor of attack and defense units to conserve power cells. This is a politically charged choice of priorities, as some voices are raised decrying the slowing down of many construction projects and the lengthening of construction deadlines on the City Continent due to a lack of airborne labor to complete the projects.
