Update on Heroes’ Legacy Event 2024
Dear Community,
We recently shared the news that our Heroes’ Legacy event, originally planned to take place in Marseille, will now be hosted online. This decision was not taken lightly, and we want to provide full transparency regarding the reasons for this change, the compensation we are offering, and how we are refocusing our resources.
Why was the physical event replaced?
We had initially secured the largest venue in Marseille, and all preparations were in place for what was planned to be a major physical event. However, one of our key local partners unexpectedly withdrew from the agreement, leaving us in a challenging situation. Hosting an event of this scale comes with significant costs, often reaching six to seven figures, and without the support of our partner, it wasn’t reasonable for us to allocate such a large budget on our own, especially in the current market climate.
We explored every possible alternative with other partners, but unfortunately, we were unable to secure a viable solution. Additionally, a physical event would have required a large portion of our team’s focus and resources, diverting attention away from the core priority: delivering our products. With important milestones approaching, including Arise and its Lands, TCG gameplay rework, and various other critical updates, we felt it was essential to concentrate all of our efforts on these developments to ensure the best possible outcome.
We are truly sorry for any disappointment this may cause. After careful consideration, we made the difficult decision to shift Heroes’ Legacy to a fully virtual format. This allows us to focus on creating the best product experience while still delivering an exciting and engaging event for the community.
What can you expect from the virtual event?
While the event will no longer be in person, Heroes’ Legacy remains intact. The main e-sports tournament will continue as planned with an exciting online stream featuring various activities, team insights, and special prizes. We will also introduce additional side tournaments with a total of $10K cash prize, allowing more players to participate. A detailed article covering all the rules and event details will be released shortly.
Compensation for our players and community
We understand the disappointment this change may cause, particularly for those who had begun making travel plans to attend in person. To mitigate any inconvenience, we are offering the following compensation:
- Increased main tournament cash prize: We’ve raised the prize pool from $100K to $110K. This increase is due to the reallocation of the travel rewards earned from the qualifiers, which would have covered players’ travel to France for the event.
- Side tournaments: Multiple side tournaments with a total of $10K will be available for those who didn’t qualify for the main event or were eliminated early.
- Administrative fee reimbursements: We will cover any non-refundable fees related to travel documents, such as passport and visa applications.
- Giveaways and prizes: During the online event, we will host various giveaways to ensure more community members can benefit from participating.
We have taken these steps to ensure that our 64 qualified players, as well as the broader community, feel supported and appreciated during this transition.
Why are we announcing this now?
We have made every effort to explore all possible options to maintain the physical event in Marseille. Unfortunately, given the timeline and circumstances, this decision could no longer be delayed. We believe that being upfront and transparent with our community is the best approach, even as we continue our product launches and preparations for the future.
What are our current priorities?
Our focus remains on delivering world-class products. This includes the upcoming launch of Arise, as well as other enhancements across our ecosystem, such as TCG Collection, Gameplay, Rewards, and new blockchain integration. While these developments take time, we are fully committed to making them the best they can be.
In the meantime, we invite you to join us at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, where we will be showcasing an exclusive demo of Arise for the first time. Expanding into the Asian market is a major priority for us, and we are excited to share our progress with you.
We deeply appreciate your understanding and continued support as we navigate these changes. We know how much this event means to our community, and we are doing everything we can to ensure that Heroes’ Legacy 2024 remains an exciting and rewarding experience for all.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
